| "My husband has normal fronto-temporal recessions which are quite big. Now he is considering surgical hair restoration. Does it really look natural?"
Dr. Joerg Hugeneck: At the Moser Medical Group we give special attention to the hairline. For an absolutely natural look we place only the very fine hairs in the front, the further back from the hairline we go, the thicker hair we use. The Follicular Units are being prepared under the microscope and can be placed very closely together. However, the small distances between the grafts will vary, giving a random pattern to the grafts and the most natural results possible. We design the hairline so it looks natural at all ages.

"How long does the treatment take?
Dr. Joerg Hugeneck: The duration of the treatment depends on the size of the area that has to be treated. Careful dissection of the donor strip and graft preparation takes about 30 minutes. Depending on how many grafts are being transplanted the surgery can take between 2 and 4 hours.

"Will the head be shaved for the surgery?"
Dr. Joerg Hugeneck: No. Only the hair in the area where the donor strip is taken from is trimmed short to a length of 3mm. The rest of the hair is not being affected. Right after the surgery your hair will look as it always has.
"Does the treatment hurt?"
Dr. Joerg Hugeneck: No. At the beginning of the treatment you'll receive local anaesthetics. During the surgery you won't feel anything at all.
"Is there a danger of infection or any other side effects after the treatment?"
Dr. Joerg Hugeneck: No. Due to the Moser Method, our highly advanced surgery technique and tools and the extensive experience we are able to work so carefully no infections are possible. Our tens-of-thousands of positive experiences should give you enough comfort. In fact, the Solution for Bioregeneration that we developed and which is applied to the recipient area after the treatments increase healing and hair growth.

"Will the scar of the strip harvesting be visible?"
Dr. Joerg Hugeneck: No. Even right after surgery the donor area won't be visible (with normal hair length starting with 1cm.)
"What precautions do I have to take after surgery?"
Dr. Joerg Hugeneck: For the first days after the surgery (8 -10 days) we recommend to avoid physical effort and avoid getting your hair dirty and sweaty. Nevertheless, you can wash you hair even 24 hours after the surgery.
"After the treatment when will I be fit for society and office?"
Dr. Joerg Hugeneck: From the medical point of view, you'll be fit for office and society even after 24 hours. Still, we recommend taking it slowly for a few days.
"When will my hair grow back?"
Dr. Joerg Hugeneck: In some clinics it can happen, that the hair doesn't start to grow after the treatment. We'd say, it is "on vacation". Only 12 to 14 weeks later does is slowly start to grow back. After 8 to 9 months you can see the final results. With the Storage Solution developed by the Moser Medical Group , however, this "hibernation" is prevented. After the preparation the FUs are stored in this nutrient solution until they get transplanted in the tiny slits in the recipient area. With this treatment the hair starts to grow back faster and even thicker. The effects are clinically tested and internationally recognized.

"Will the results look naturally?"
Dr. Joerg Hugeneck: Our surgeons at the Moser Medical Group pay a great deal of attention to natural design. For perfect results it is important to consider the natural arrangement of the follicular units, the hair direction and the angle. We take particular care of a natural looking hairline. Very often, even experts - we surgeons - aren't able to tell if somebody had a surgical hair restoration.

"Why will transplanted hair grow throughout my entire life?"
Dr. Joerg Hugeneck: Each hair root is genetically programmed. Those in the back and at the side of the head were programmed to grow your entire life. In surgical hair restoration we harvest the donor strip from this area. The donor strip is dissected into follicular units under the dissection microscope and placed into tiny slits in the balding or thinning area. Since these hair roots contain the genetic information to grow throughout your life, they'll also start to grow in formerly bald or thinning areas - for your whole life.

"Will existing hair continue to fall out even though I had a hair transplantation?
Dr. Joerg Hugeneck: It is of course possible that the existing hair continues to fall out. Thin hair, however, can be made look full by surgical hair restoration. Hair loss will be less visible. In our free consultations our specialists explain everything involved in detail. Soon, we will soon be launching our new Hair-Restorer, a product developed by the Moser Medical Group. "Is it possible to get a hair transplantation with hair from other people?"
Dr. Joerg Hugeneck: No! Just like in organ transplantation your body would reject foreign hair.
"At what age can I have a transplantation?"
Dr. Joerg Hugeneck: There is no age-restriction. For young men, however, long-term planning is critical. They often have unreasonable expectations and hopes. Thorough preliminary talks are indispensable.
"How often can I have a treatment?
Dr. Joerg Hugeneck: It depends on the extent of the treatment and the elasticity of the scalp, but, in general I would say, 3 - 4 times. Dense enough hair in the donor area is a prerequisite. With the Moser Medical Group one Microscope Mega Session usually is enough to get the results you want.

"How much does surgical hair restoration cost?!
Dr. Joerg Hugeneck: The costs mainly depend on the number of transplanted follicular units. In this regard, the hair structure, depending on whether you have dense and coarse hair, is crucial. Another factor is your expectations - what results you wish to get. That's why each patient gets an individual consultation so we can provide you with personal information. In general, surgical hair restoration starts with € 3,000.

"Why are there so many bald people even though there is surgical hair restoration?"
Dr. Joerg Hugeneck: Two thirds of all men and almost 50% of the women suffer from hair loss. Hair loss can proceed in many different ways. It is our great concern to provide the best treatment for your personal needs in order to achieve only perfect results. Although it would be possible for us to treat twice or three times as many patients as we do at this point, for us, quality comes before quantity. Our patients well-being and satisfaction is always our top priority.
The decision whether to have a treatment or not, is very personal. For men and women who suffer emotionally because of their hair loss problem, surgical hair restoration may be the way to improved appearance, confidence and quality of life.
>> I'm losing my hair - What can I do?!?
"How does surgical hair restoration work?"
Dr. Joerg Hugeneck: This technique, which is practiced worldwide nowadays, only uses your own existing hair. Thousands of tiny so-called follicular units consisting of one to four hair roots are transplanted. These hair roots are harvested in the back of the head where the hair usually grows throughout one's entire life. With the Moser Method the donor hairs are prepared under an dissection microscope and then finally placed in micro-slits in the bald or thinning area.
